Paradise Inc., South Korea’s foreign-only casino operator, reported February casino sales of 17.07 billion won ($14.2 million), down 5.9% from a year earlier and down 5.7% from a year earlier.

Table game sales fell 4.9 percent sequentially from January to 15.38 billion won last month, compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data submitted to the Korea Exchange on Wednesday.

Machine game sales fell 13.6% month-on-month to nearly 1.7 billion won. Such sales fell 17.7% year-on-year.

FEBRUARY TABLE DROPPED – Customer paid to purchase chips at table was KRW 105.38 billion, down 14.6% in January and 11.5% in February 2021.

The figures are based on Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Paradise City in Incheon – run through Japan’s Sega Sami Holdings Inc. and ventures – and casino divisions in groups including Busan.

From mid-January, all casinos in Korea will be required to ask their customers to confirm that they have completed the COVID-19 vaccination process or have a valid ‘negative’ test result.

Paradise reported good earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the fourth quarter of 2021, driven by “stable demand” from its customers last month.
